Commotie.

After two successful pop-up experiences in Kortrijk and Ghent, Thomas Gellynck (Chef) and Lara De Vlieger(Sommelier) decided to establish a permanent restaurant on the outskirts of Ghent. Together with architect Merijn Degraeve, they embraced a Japanese minimalist design, creating a Wabi Sabi ambiance with a focus on natural and raw elements. Nestled in the heart of nature, surrounded by greenery and forest, they drew inspiration from the environment around them.

In their kitchen, you’ll find home-grown herbs, organic, and local products, paired with low-intervention wines. The open kitchen, where they often cook over open fire, allows them to share their pure vision and provide a truly unique experience. Guests can enjoy the intimate setting of their chef's table, offering a direct view of the bar, the kitchen, and the team in full action. Thomas and Lara look forward to sharing this journey with their guests.
